How do I scan library files on the command line?

Server Version#: 1.32.7.7621 (Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS)

The docs on this seem out of date as pretty much all the options for /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex Media Scanner are deprecated.

If I try (as the plex user) to scan anything, for example this, I get a core dump:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/plexmediaserver
"/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex Media Scanner" -s -r -c 1

So is it just all broken?

use curl with whichever URL option you want from the “scanning and refreshing” section at the bottom of this page.

Oh OK!

How do I determine the library ID to refresh?

EDIT: OK I see this is going to need some research…

To find your token, look here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/204059436-finding-an-authentication-token-x-plex-token/

Thanks! Might want to update (or maybe delete?) this page maybe then?
