This is more of a general question. I’ve come to realize that I am linked to my cousins Plex server in Japan, he is linked to my server here in the States, but what I’ve found it that his military buddies can see my server on his server and even access it. I don’t want this and would like to know if there is a setting to fix this. I keep a lot of our family photo albums on my server including weddings, births, funerals, life events, etc. things that I don’t really want other people having access going though. That being said I know I could just remove his access to those files, but I would like him to have access to those but limit others that link to his server and can then jump onto mine . . . . if that makes sense.
server shares are not linked like that.
server shares are linked to users (not other servers).
what it sounds like is, your cousin has shared his actual plex account with his buddies.
there is nothing you can do about this other than asking him to stop doing that and request his buddies use their own plex account, that your cousin must then share his server to the buddies plex accounts.
otherwise, as you mention, the other alternative is to remove access on your server to either, those libraries, or your cousins account completely.
I see so rather than making their own email account they are just logging in with his info?
That’s all I can assume with the information provided. You should talk directly with your cousin to find out.
You can also monitor activity from plex web dashboard.
