How do you turn off the Movie and TV Show Merging feature?

Server Version#:1.19.4.2935

How do you disable the merging of Movie and TV shows? It is very annoying.

I can’t understand why people have to ‘Split Apart’ shows, when it would be better to do have it as optional.

Doing manual over thousands of epsiodes sounds silly.

Show us your file names and structures:

A TV Show Library:

A Movie Library:

Note:
TV Shows and Movies can NOT go into the same library.

This is what I have for the TV show which is having a problem.

It has a 1of3, 2of3, 3of3 in it…

Shouldn’t it have seen that and worked out different shows?

If you want Plex to work - rename your torrent files to something Plex will recocognize - what you have don’t cut the mustard.

I’m also suspicious of TV Show Files from one show inside a folder clearly for another show.

Filebot did my names and structures according to the instructions Plex laid down for our behavior. We get almost 100% Natural Matching - I haven’t had to Fix Match in weeks - 'cause when a file shows up in my libraries, Plex can work out what it is. There isn’t any mystery.

Hmm… It’s actually my brother’s data share who just went with the defaults.

Guess I’ll have to get him setup for some massive reorganisations.

Quite new to Plex, but thanks for that suggestion.

Previous were able to to work it out, and I thought since it had actually found the metadata, it would have run that on the three files, gotten different metadata and then treated them as separate ones.

Saw some people mentioning a program called FileBot, which can help automate it.

Don’t stay home without it…:
(I can’t live without it - and 15 minutes into the year of trial you’ll discover you can’t either)

It’ll leave a LOT of free time to watch your media - instead of futzing with it.
