TV Shows being merged

I have 2 TV shows (Sons Of Anarche and Stargate Universe) that for some reason are being merged and I have been going in circles trying to split them apart so they show up as two separate TV Shows. I have renamed the folders and files for the TV show and episodes but every time I copy the folder of one show back to the root folder for my TV Series it gets merged back to whichever TV Series I added first.

The media info shows the following:

I have read the forums and there is supposedly a “split apart” optoin but no matter where I look this option does not show up.

Can anyone suggest anything to fix this issue. This is the only two TV Series which do this. All others I have either matched automatically or I was able to fix the incorrect match.

Thank you.

Do you have E:\TV Shows\S added to your tv show library or just E:\TV Shows ?
If it’s the latter, you can expect many similar problems in the future.

You have to add each of the ‘index letter’ folders individually to your library.
Otherwise Plex doesn’t see the folder structure it expects.
Arbitrary subfolders cannot be used in a tv show library.

Thank you so much for your help. I have been going crazy the last 3 days to try and resolve this. I added every ‘index letter’ folder to the TV Series library and it found matched eery TV series correctly. I would have never though of doing this as all other TV Series were either matched correctly or I was able to manually match them.

I think I may have to go back and ‘fix’ my movies library as well. I have never had an issue like this but why tempt fate.

Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind that to clear out mismatches from the Plex database, you have to perform the Plex Dance with each mismatched episode, season or show.
After you corrected the folder structure and file names.

While you’re at it. here is another aspect to be aware of: embedded metadata.
This user has been doing it right, but the embedded title tags of his mp4 files have been giving him grief.
