How long do the logs last for the Dash app?

I want to keep track of everything we watch… forever. Do I have to upgrade to Lifetime to get this functionality (with the Dash app)? Or is it available in the free version?

I am willing to upgrade if that will get me this feature, but will the logs retain all usage data indefinitely or will I have to periodically back up the log files so that information does not get deleted, overwritten, etc.?

Thanks.

According to the related support article, the “play history” component of the server dashboard requires a Plex Pass membership.

The same goes for using the standalone Plex Dash app.

Thanks. I will probably upgrade then.

But the question remains: how long do the log files stay? Indefinitely?

Based on the available filters (e.g. Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last Year, All Time), I take it Plex is not deleting any playback records.

Where do I find the filters? I want to make sure it is set to “All”.

Lastly, is there a way to back up the data short of copy/paste?

The filter is usually in the top-right of the related views/hubs/tables (see “Play History” in the support article linked above). In the “Full History”, the time is one of the filters above the tabular playback history.

Thanks.

Lastly, are these logs available from the web interface on my desktop computer? Or just from the smartphone app?

Edit: is it the “Top Users” and “Play History” that are now in my Dashboard since I upgraded?

The screenshots you can see in the support are based on Plex Web or the Plex Desktop clients (Plex for Mac / Windows).
The “Plex Dash” app is on optional extension to that
