How many remote clients?

I’ve finally had 80/20 BT Fibre installed which has made my media experience so much better coming from barely 8/1 ADSL!

Anyway I’m now using remote access allot more for myself and for a few friends.

Me and my friends are accessing everything remotely through other fibre connections using Android, Windows and Samsung TV clients.

I set remote quality to 3 Mbps 720p the same as my local quality and all my movies max are 720p YIFY and most of the tv episodes are standard definition.

I try to avoid transcoding as my imac is usually working hard on other things so I’ve always had direct play and stream enabled which works fine.

The question is how many remote streams do you think I can handle at once?

Probably 3-4 with no problem, 6 Max I would think.  your viewing it through your up speed which is 30Mbps (Not MBps) s if your are allowing remote to be set at 3Mbps thats 6.666666 computes connected to it without problems (this is if your not doing any other upload, and if your getting true 30Mbps upload.) I have Google fiber so its 1000Mbps (on a good day sometimes) I share out my server but I only allow 100 people because thats allow 8Mbps so I calculate 125 could use it, but that extra 25 that is not used is for buffer. thats how I do it, could be wrong but just letting you know.
