How often does the official Docker repository get updated?

Im running the official Docker container for Plex on Unraid and will get ‘an update is available’ notices for days/weeks without the update taking place upon container restart.

The latest notice says version 1.13.1.5063-b4605f76e is available (Im using Plex Pass), and Ive been getting that notice every day for the last eleven days. Eventually the container gets updated on restart, but how often are updates pushed and available to containers?

Thanks.

Think docker image is out as soon as patch is out. Make sure your docker configuration automatic pulls image on recreate. I dont know how it works on unraid but you can restart a container and not pull image and you can restart and pull image. Think your setup is doing the former and not the latter.

How can I tell if the new image I pulled contains the TVDB agent fix that was released yesterday?

Or is there a tag I should be using other than Latest?
I see a few others like: beta, plexpass, and public
but i dont know the difference.

I’m looking at the tags page at https://hub.docker.com/r/plexinc/pms-docker/tags/ and the new build still isn’t appearing there. When I pulled the latest build, I’m still getting 5023 as well.

I know it says automated builds, but obviously the docker images aren’t built and released simultaneously.

I’m in the same boat, trying to get the latest update to fix the TVDB agent. Plex UI shows an update is available but needs to be manually applied.

Looking at the Docker repo, the build hasn’t happened in months. It’s an automatic build so it’ll only build if the github repo (https://github.com/plexinc/pms-docker) is updated, and there haven’t been any updates on that since March so something needs to get updated in the repo to trigger the automatic build so that we can all get our lovely update.

Same here, I use the Plex Docker with UnRAID and since there is this Prob. with the TVDB Agent the Update would be
totally necessary. I hope the repo gets updated.

+1.
Having the same problem here as well. I hate not having the latest version :pensive: (plexpass).

We in Customer Support can see what’s (not) happening. We’ve reached out to the CI team to take care of the issue.
It’s not only Docker but also the Linux repositories as both are updated in the same automation task

Thank you for responding.

Puts my mind at ease.

If I were allowed to go in and fix it, I would have fixed it goood >:)

Just jumping in here with an outside data point. No problems keeping current using the linuxserver/plex docker.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what the functional differences are between the linuxserver/plex and plexinc/pms-dockers?

ETA on this fix? I got a few new TV shows not being picked up by themoviedb agent and would really like to be able to use thetvdb again.

it’s friday night here. Worst case? Probably Monday. Best case? Tomorrow morning when one of the team does their routine check in

Manual Metadata it is then. Thanks for the insight. Sucks the update script choked on such a important bug fix, I guess that’s just the way it goes.

It’s not a bug fix. TheTVDB changed their API. We had to find out what changed and then adapt to the new API since the old API is no longer supported. Not being defensive here but I didn’t know about the API change until after they switched over and I started tracking down errors in everyone’s logs.

If you were using any of the native server versions, you could download manually.

As for the failure to update the container? That’s an issue. The Linux repositories also didn’t update. Again, manual download is available for host platform packages

I understand what happened, just miss typed. I’ve been dealing with thetvdbs bullshit for years so it wasn’t any surprise to me when I saw the post on reddit.

I’m running Unraid, so while running a native version isn’t a impossibility, it wouldn’t be worth the effort or the loss of benefits from the docker version.

I get being a little defensive about blame, it’s 100% reasonable. Plex isn’t to blame for this and I didn’t mean to suggest they were, I apologize.

Just wanted to update on this.

Docker (unraid) is now running the latest version of Plex and everything is working great.
