Good day guys,
Recently found out that Plex supports dsd/dsf playback. Just wondering how it is possible to do native hi-res playback via Chrome and if Plex actually doing that? Or it does lossy convert to what Chome supports (flac?)?
Thanks!

It’s a lossy conversion. There is currently no reliable way to play DSF as it’s supposed to (bitstreaming the DSD data to a suitable DAC).
What does it convert to? I hope at least flac?
Does Windows Plex Media Player plays it natively?
Thanks!
Depends on the client type. But it defaults to lossy codecs.
No Plex client can play DSD currently “correctly”.
Plexamp at least plays it without converting it to a lossy codec first.
But it cannot stream the DSD data to a suitable DAC (which IMO is the correct way to treat DSD – otherwise you may as well convert it into flac and save some space).
