I am sharing media with friends. I would like to see from the log what and if the are using the content. But it seems that the log is reset/empty everytime I re-access. Especially what media files that they access is relevant for me. Is the history available via the plex client/server? I can see the “playing now” just when the play the media - but after they are done the history are gone?

+1 for plexpy, this software is awesome.
Plexpy looks cool, but I’d sure like to see some basic functionality like this built into the core app. Bare minimum, tell me how much bandwidth has been used, when, so I can grasp what’s going on.

Oh wow! This is cool! Just installed it! Does it only show the user statistics from the moment you install it, though? Any way to import Plex logs for all the activity up to the point of PlexPy install?

I’ve been digging PlexPy/Tautulli, but it’d be considerably more useful if it could go further back by retrieving information from Plex’s database and log files.
It may not fully enrich it, sch as frequency details, but being able to say what has been watched, like Plex already gathers, would be much more useful.
I found Plexpy too difficult to install on my Mac and it actually caused problems until I uninstalled it. I would be much better if the sophistication of Plexpy gets added into the account controls of the regular Plex service.
Came here looking for the same answer as I accidentally found user history while someone was streaming. I figured it out by accident how to go back - Click on Activity icon, then Dashboard. Not sure when Plex added this stuff, or if I installed a plug-in at some point but some pretty neat history charts and info.
I had received an email indicating this feature was available now, but I have the latest version of the server and do not see a Dashboard option under Activity. Is there something else that needs to be updated/installed?
It’s available on the hosted web app (Plex.tv) for the moment and it was said in another thread it would make its way to the server build in the future.

On the web app app.plex.tv
click on Activity in the top bar,
then on Dashboard
scroll down to ‘Play History’,
there is a smaller link ‘View full history’
Each media item in your library also has a ‘View Play history’ link in its context menu, so you can see how popular it is.
