How to add chapters to existing MP4 & MKV-based movies? I normally get this during my BD rip but I see that I have some that were ripped bare bones and do not contain the chapter markers. Isn’t this just metadata? How best to add this? I’m using a Mac at the moment.

For general editing…
There used to be an online database for chapters – however they have closed down some time ago. Interestingly, BN.com can be a good source for chapter information 
So it’s a very manual process of building up each chapter point, one by one…? I have noticed that in Plex, not having the chapters are not such a big deal but I normally like to have the source files to contain as much metadata as possible. Thanks.
