How to add the Plex shortcut to my Synology NAS DSM Desktop?

I somehow must have accidentally removed the Plex shortcut on my DSM, and I cannot seem to figure out how to get it back.

I’ve literally never added a shortcut to my DSM desktop, because I’ve never needed one. But out of curiosity I just added one for Plex. I just opened that menu in the top left (which I also never use!) and dragged the Plex icon onto the ‘desktop’. It worked.
edit: the shortcut opens the local web app, fyi - not sure if that’s what you wanted.

Yes, that’s exactly what I wanted! Unfortunately, Plex isn’t showing up under the Main Menu, and it also isn’t able to be found when I use the Main Menu search bar.

See FAQ 34: Control Plex Media Server desktop icon visibility.

I was checking out the FAQ’s for this function (thanks @FordGuy61), and on my DS1813+ (DSM 7.1.1, can’t be updated any further, PMS v1.40.2.8312) I noticed that Plex Media Server does not show up at all in Application Privileges, any idea why?

I have checked Users & Groups and all permissions for all users seem correct there.

I do have PMS in the main menu and I can drag and drop the icon on the DSM desktop, but I can’t hide it at all?

Thank you. I believe this was the answer to my issue. I know I had updated my DSM and it seems after one of the Synology updates, the Plex Icon had disappeared. After discussing this at length here and on another forum, I’m quite positive this was the fix. Regardless, it has been fixed now, so I appreciate it! (Sorry for the very late reply)
