How to completely remove Plex Server (can't connect to server)

Hi

I’m a new Plex user and I’m trying to get Plex Server working after not being able to get anything to play - I just get mysterious errors. I just have a Windows PC with the content on Windows shares. After trying to delete everything and reinstalling (following every step of https://support.plex.tv/articles/201198426-restart-plex-media-server-setup-from-scratch/ and then reinstalling) I’m unable to connect to my server to setup any new libraries. It says I’m signed in, but all Authorised Devices are tagged with ‘x’ . I reinstalled server and after initialising it says “Something went wrong” and in the server list “Unable to connect to PC securely”.

How can I get rid of everything and start from scratch as the instructions above clearly don’t remove everything?

Server Version#:1.40.2.8395
Player Version#:1.93.0.144
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

They do remove everything.

The red X that appears when you move your mouse pointer over them allows you to disconnect them from your Plex account.
If you do so with your server, you will not be able to access it anymore.

After performing the above linked complete deinstallation and subsequent re-install
(did you install “Plex Media Server” and not just “Plex”?)
you need to follow these instructions to connect your new server to your existing plex account: New Claiming Requirement for Windows

Tx for the info. I didn’t realise that the red ‘x’ under Authorised Devices was an action rather than a status or tag as there’s no hover-help or tooltip to explain when you mouse over it - it just turns white. Very confusing espec as delete is normally a menu-revealed two-step action in most UIs.

I reinstalled the Plex client, then during the process of me clicking about something prompted me to sign in again and then somehow the server was available again.
