I have a old server (Roy’s Media Server) that I once used and now I would like to remove it completely from my Plex Media Server. I do not see any settings to the right of the media server name where I can normally delete it. Is there a way I can go into windows where the Plex data is stored at in order to delete it? Please help.
Have you looked under Authorized Devices tab and deleted it there???
https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/devices/pms
Do only delete old, unused servers from there.
is the the same area that the Authorized Devices are listed? I have deleted the ones that I no longer wont to appear but they still appear. Is there any additional areas where they may ber stored?
Do you have several Windows user accounts on the machines you are using?
It appears to me, that as soon as you log in to one of the other user accounts, a different Plex Server is starting.
You need to make sure that Plex server is only starting under one of these user accounts.
Log in to each Windows user account (including those you are only using for system maintenance)
then check the task tray area for the plex icon.
Right-click on it and disable ‘Start Plex Media Server at login’ everywhere, except your main user account.
I would like to delete Iphone, Plex, Web Shows, Podcasts and I have two Media Server’s listing and only want one.
See my message above for your servers.
As for the Online Media Sources: those you need to disable in your plex account: https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources
Yes, this is the same place @OttoKerner is telling you about… Follow what he is telling you…
So if I am running three separate Plex accounts all on the same network and they all are showing the same media just because I delete one of the media off one of the servers it will automatically appear on another because of the redundency??
I am not talking about Plex accounts.
I am talking about different Plex server instances, which are all running under a certain Windows user account. If you are using several Windows user accounts and you don’t prevent plex server from starting in all-but-one of these, you will continue to have the problem with “phantom servers” appearing.
