enter the smart list hub and select Delete – you should now be able to see the smart collection in the respective section again (e.g. Library > Album Collections); it’s not actually deleted
Yes, you come back and edit it until you didn’t change the filter.
I did it once or twice because I was lucky enough to edit the filter just after I edited a playlist.
But it is not possible to edit a playlist if you changed that filter for another playlist
Safly there is now way to come back and edit it. When you delete it, you just come back to the last filter configuration.
And your playlist is just lost.
Edit a filter for Playlist 1 > Pin it to Homescreen > Delete it in the Homescreen section > Come back to the filter > There you can Edit it
(That is the process you explain above)
Edit a filter for Playlist 1 > Pin it to Homescreen > Edit a filter for Playlist 2 > Pin it to Homescreen
Then it is not possible in any way to Edit Playlist 1 anymore…
Delete Playlist 1 in the Homescreen section > Come back to the filter > There you can only Edit Playlist 2, not Playlist 1 or any Playlists you made before
I think what you’re pointing out is that you cannot add playlists to the home screen?
When you pin something to the home screen from while filtering the library, you’re creating a temporary hub that’s not backed by an existing collection. By removing such a hub from the home screen, there’s nothing left – therefore you indeed cannot edit those (unless you re-create the filter and publish it from scratch).
I suppose the more “resilient” approach will be to create an actual smart collection in Plex Web. You can then publish it or (after removing it from the home screen) edit the filters as you like.
