How to enable native ASS(Subtitles) support on PLEX for fire hd 10 tablet?

Basically, I know the tablet supports ASS, I used to use VLC to play my stuff with ASS subtitles on this table and it worked fine.

With PLEX, it transcodes it instead for some reasons. Supposedly the android client got ASS support back in version 9.7.0? ASS works fine if I have PLEX send it to another player, but that’s not exactly what I want. Am I missing some codecs or something?
