We primarily use an nVidia Shield TV for viewing and I was curious if there was a way to add more categories to the Plex app (or the Plex app for Kodi)? i.e., Drama, Crime, Horror, Science Fiction, Action, etc.
Thank you for your time.

Not sure if i am misunderstanding question.
You edit your media items metadata in the web app and add whatever genres you want to them.
In player apps you can filter a library by the genre you want that exist for that library.
Thank you for the response BigWheel. Please allow me to clarify…
When I start the Plex app on the nVidia Shield, and then I click on the “Movies” button at the top of the screen… and from there we typically will find a movie to watch.
But from that “Movies” section, the only categories I always see are “Recently Released Movies”, “Recently Added Movies”, “Continue Watching”, “Top Unplayed Movies” and “Recently Played Movies”
And then within that list above, there are 2 additional categories that will also show (2 categories that seem to change randomly)… looking at it now, I currently see “Top Movies in History” and “Top Movies with Sean Bean”.
It is those additional categories that I would like to see more of… like Drama, Crime, Action, Mystery, etc. Is there a way to add more of those categories to the main Movies section?
Also, I didn’t know that the list of Genres existed by going to Movies/All Movies/All/Genre section. So that is helpful. But it would be super cool to be able to add specific Genre categories to the main interfaces of Plex (instead of having to drill down so far in to find them).
Oh. the Discovery hubs are dynamically generated. There is not a way to manually add certain ones at this time.
But I agree it would be cool to be able to. I don’t want to make promises about it being implemented or not but I will bring it up to our UX folks
