So how do I get my Plex server and Plex app on my Nvidia Shield to sort movies in my very large collection into genres?

You add genre tags to them if they don’t already. then filter by whatever you want.

I can access the genres on my laptop PC through: https://app.plex.tv/desktop# but not on my Nvidia shield or through the Windows 10 App. How do I turn on genres on the Shield Plex app or the Windows 10 Plex app?

they are filters. When you are in a library viewing the alphabetical list of movies. open the filter menu. It will generally be “ALL” by default"

Thank you! The funnel icon is the filter icon! That you for pointing that out to me! On the Shield player it was a bit harder to find but I managed. Would be nice if all Plex player apps looked the same for easy of navigation.
