How to get forced subtitles to show without a preferred language

Hi, apart from setting it manually, I can’t get forced subtitles to automatically be chosen without having a preferred language.

I have an anime library that i want to have Japanese be t he primary language.

So, I’m left with having english be the default language and forced subtitles working as expected causing all my dual audio anime to default to an incorrect language, or have the correct language on anime, but no forced subtitles being automatically enabled.

Is there any way around this?

forced subtitles enabled

It seems odd that forced subtitles aren’t automatically enabled when automatic language/subtitles isn’t enabled.

It seems like a bug that the forced flag is ignored if you don’t enable the automatic audio/subtitle options. All other flags seem to be followed.

If you don’t have automatic audio/subtitles on, plex should conform to the defaults of the file and that is not happening with forced subtitles.

Bump for visibility. Emby does this correctly. I feel like Plex should be able to do it too.
