How do I get some of my other videos that are in episode format to be grouped together like the tv shows. I don’t want the videos to be listed under TV-Shows but in their own category. (My wife doesn’t want to have any animation in movies or tv-shows so it has to be a separate category). I am having a problem with all of the episodes showing up as their own show and can’t seem to figure out how to group them in the main Plex listing. I have all of the shows currently titled as if they were tv-shows (Show title - SxxExx - Episode title.mkv) with each show in its own folder and each season separated under each each show:
Media/Other Video/Animation/Show Title/Season xx/Title - SxxExx - Episode title.mkv
As I have hundreds of some shows episodes, it gets tiresome to scroll through all the episodes to get to the next grouping of titles.
I am very much a neophyte with Plex and am sure I am just missing something silly or doing something in the wrong way. By the way is there a definitive book on the details of Plex, the how and why, syntax, tips, etc?
You can have as many TV Show Libraries as you want. Make a new one for yourself and have the Personal Media Agent handle the entire library, or select ‘shows’ within it.
With an UNO interface (YMMV) you may even be able to move the TV Show Library your better half doesn’t want to see down the page, or something. Name it ‘No Girls Allowed’… that’ll do it.
TV Show Style in an Other Videos Library can be done - I’ve seen it, but it’s complicated and troublesome setting up and maintaining and it’s been so long ago now it may not work at all.
You can also make a Collection with just your stuff in it, call it something clever and sort it to the bottom of the page. Hide the shows in it and the Collection Poster will be the only thing showing. You can create a custom poster for your collection - something repellent to women should keep your wife outta there…lol
