How to identify missing seasons, episodes in Plex Player?

This has been asked a few times over the years, but most suggestions end up suggesting sonarr, couch potato, etc (some other download tool). This is commonly the correct answer for those looking to download missing shows. I am looking to find out how complete a series is before I start to watch it - through my Apple TV, LG Player, etc (where I play my shows through Plex). I download all my shows OTA.

I am hoping to find a way to have Plex show me if there are missing seasons or episodes. It could be a badge like the one that shows how many unwatched shows there are or a missing thumbnail to show the missing episodes. Just as examples of what I am hoping for.

I like to start new shows, when I get finished with an old one. What is frustrating is when you are half way through you find out you are missing episodes. This wouldn’t solve mislabeled shows, or the like but at least I would have a better chance of knowing if I am selecting a complete show.

It would be nice if there is a way to see if my series is up to date, prior to my starting a new show, and I would prefer not to search through a third party app (like sonarr) that doesn’t give me all the information that Plex does - as least not as easily as Plex does.

I want to help but I’m a little confused.
To you, what is the functional difference between “Seeing how complete a series is” and “Finding what series have missing episodes/are incomplete” ?
Because, with Sonarr, you just open it, connect it to your TV library. And it’ll highlight in red any shows that are missing stuff. You don’t need to use any of it’s automation tools.

EDIT: So the process ins’t exactly convolution free.
Install Sonar - Choose the ‘Series’ tab. 'Import Existing Series on disk" then select the folder that contains your TV show folders.
Then after it makes you a list of your shows, click the magnifying glass beside each one, that option will both add the show to sonarr and look for missing episodes.
Just click that magnifying glass over and over until youve added all your shows.
Then click on “Series” again, and it’ll show you all your shows and tell you how many episodes are missing.
You should only need to do this once to find whats missing, then you can remove sonarr.
