Server Version#: no idea. Plex can’t find it so apparently no version.
Player Version#: whatever logging in via Chrome.
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled> NO server logs because apparently the server is only running in task manager and not in a place where Plex can actually locate it.
I have a fresh install of Windows 10 on the same old PC that I’ve been using for years. It can’t be updated to Windows 11 so the only thing I’ve done with it for the last several years is run Plex but after I changed my password I lost all access. I couldn’t find the token or anything else I was ordered to find so I gave up and wiped Windows off the drive entirely. Reformatted the drive twice and then installed Windows 10 again with help from Microsoft. There is absolutely nothing else on this machine at this point beyond the 64 bit Windows 10 Pro OS and a download of the plex server. The server seems to install but once installed only task manager can see that it’s running. I tried to access it via the edge browser and the Chrome browser but no luck. It just tells me to install the server repeatedly. My media drives are safely disconnected at this point and will not be connected again until after I get plex working. I tried asking about this a few weeks ago now but after one reply I got crickets. I’m really frustrated at this point. I just want to get Plex back up and running on this machine! I bought the lifetime pass but right now that’s feeling like a huge mistake. I tried Emby and at first it was fine but it turned into a nightmare and I went nuclear on the hard drive to get rid of it.
I do not know my old server number or ID or whatever it’s called. I do not care about the old dead deleted server. I want to set up a brand new server from scratch. How do I get Plex to let me do that? Do I have to buy another life time pass or would that just be throwing more money down the drain?
