My old system running Windows 10 crashed, but I still retained all my data from my SATA drives.
I purchased a new Windows 11 system, but after I installed the new Plex Server software, I cannot see or access my libraries.
I saw my old system name on the list of available libraries, however it would not connect nor did I imagine it would. Right now, I’d just like to start over and just add my media back in, however I have no options to add libraries or add a new server to my account.
Make sure to open your new server through its local IP address in order to finish the setup – if you’re on the same machine, that’ll be http://127.0.0.1:32400/web – http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web otherwise.
This includes naming your server as well as linking it to your Plex account. Afterwards you’ll also be able to access your server through other clients.
I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure.
I downloaded the PMS software and ran it.
I have the application running on my desktop, but I do not see the Plex icon in the bottom right like I did previously on Windows 10.
When I click on the application, it’s running, but again I do not see any server settings.
That’s just the desktop client to access your media – not a Plex Media Server. While you’re not running the actual server you cannot configure anything (e.g. server settings or libraries) – nor is there anything to be accessed from within your browser
Ok, so not sure what happened there, but I did download the software under the Plex Media Server software, but I guess it downloaded a client version only?
I just redownloaded the software and I see the PMS file now in my downloads.
I’m installing it now.
