How to join beta program?

I want to test the new 7.24 Plex beta on my new Shield to try out DV, gut the link to sign up for the beta program is broken: Join App Betas: Android (mobile), Android TV, Apple TV, iOS

can somebody fix it or is there any other way of trying it out?

there is no option to set the update channel to PlexPass

Where are you looking for this setting? In the server settings? On the Plex website for downloads?

That link is for the downloads page which does have the Plex Pass option, but only if you have a Plex Pass. Your account doesn’t show you have a Plex Pass so you don’t get the option.

The Android TV beta is not automatically available to all Plex Pass users, it’s not the same as a Plex Pass preview version like for PMS. The beta needs you to actually sign up. The updates then automatically show up in the Play Store.

There are multiple levels of plex beta’s.

  • one off dev builds, generally posted in the forum with a link that that eventually expires
  • opt-in beta where you must ‘sign up’ for a release that is outside the normal app update channel (ie android beta or ios testflight beta)
  • public beta/plex-pass previews, generally available from the main plex download website when you are signed in with a plex pass account and have the ‘plex pass’ download enabled
  • probably others that are used for smaller groups of internal/external testing

also

  • Plex Web > settings > general > server update channel > beta will direct link you to the public plex pass beta downloads (for PMS only).

I purchased PlexPass yesterday, at least the status on my side is correct. But I guess it’s irrelevant, the link from the first post(http://goo.gl/forms/4W15otoWZDNBvXcq1) does not work.

since I have no way of selecting update channel in Plex Media Player on Shield I guess only option is opt-in beta via the above link, which does not work. So how do I get the 7.24 beta version of the player on my Shield?
