Ok, I’ll begin by stating that I’m a novice a this. I previously used Plex on Windows and it seemed pretty straight forward but I didn’t have the benefit of a tuner.
So I set up a new QNAP hosting Plex with HDHomeRun for the tuner. I’ve been recording and playing back TV Shows fine but last night when when I scheduled a movie, Plex forced me to create a new Movies folder.
It was 2AM and did this quickly and recall, as with the TV Shows, there was no guidance as to where these folders should actually be placed on my NAS. I had previously created a DVR folder, where the TV Shows are stored, but the DVR folder didn’t show up on the list, OR if it did, I overlooked it at that hour of the morning.
I figured I would just straighten this out in the morning but I can’t locate the video file on my NAS.
I can simply delete the current movie’s library and simply recreate it. That’s easy to do, BUT I don’t want to lose the video.
Here’s the actual location of the video on the NAS. It only shows up in the Plex Server interface, not the user Plex interface.

This folder doesn’t appear on my NAS in File Station at all! I haven’t a clue how to get to it and move or copy it. Seems to me when you click on “manage libraries” in Plex you should be able to actually manage your library’s current location. I thought I could do this with prior versions but apparently that’s not possible. And searching in my NAS doesn’t find it either, even with hidden files turned on.
My NAS is a TS-253D. Does anyone have a clue how I can locate this file on my NAS before I delete this Movies library, which I obviously placed in the wrong area?
