How to mount rclone with gdrive - to Synology NAS?

They confirm its working “Solution” marked

Copying from your mount to your Mac will require your Mac to be online 24/7 if you have a bigger amount of data to download  . I want my nas to be Independent without other units involved.

Maybe I should just buy those 4 bucks and get on with it

True.

(Although I am still not totally convinced that the exFat plugin will work)

One other solution I thought of you could use/install tmux on your nas
(I think I installed it from the synocommunity repo ages ago, but can not see it when I look on my nas, but it does now seem to be in SynoCli Network Tools package.)

tmux allows you to disconnect from your open shh session but leave all the terminals open, so you can just reconnect and all your terminal windows are still open (tmux allows you have multiple terminal sessions running)

So you could then just use rclone or cp to copy files from your drive in a tmux window then close your shh session and the process will continue without you needing to be connected to your nas via ssh.

Yea I have that part installed mate

But the thing is when you want to copy from a crypt, you also need to know the exact path you want to download , so if you have a show called ( example ) : This is Winther (2019)
Then you need to know how to copy the path manually by rclone copy gcrypt:/TVshows/The is Winter (2019) (2019)/ but that wont work since you need to have \ like gcrypt:/TVshows/This \is \Winther (2019)/

Else it wont work - just a bit messy if you have tons of thing to download

You can just enclose the whole lot in quotes then no need for escaping:

"gcrypt:/TVshows/This is Winther (2019)"

Cheers

Will look more into this the upcomming weekend

SCREEN is another linux utility that supports disconnecting and reconnecting of ssh sessions while keeping the console in tact.

I haven’t used tmux (though I have heard of it), but I use screen all the time.

@TeknoJunky thanks , I got that one running :slight_smile:

Found another solution for me. Have an Intel Nuc running Ubuntu Desktop, that one is mounted now to gdrive. Synology mounted via Cifs via Ubuntu . Copy works flawlessly from Ubuntu Desktop . So now I get all my selected folders and files as I want

Thanks for the inputs.
