Hi,
is it possible to remove unused posters? I have no idea where they come from and some are very low resolution, therefore useless -
I just use my own scanned covers and want to get rid of the others.

hi. these are posters that are in a shared cloud for Plex users. So donât worry about messing that up for others who choose 'em instead.

There is no way to remove unwanted items from the Posters or Background screens.
There is a feature request to add that ability. If you want to vote for it, see this thread.
I would not expect that an individual user would be allowed to delete something from a shared cloud data base.
Equally, I would not expect that these images are downloaded from the cloud every time I go to that page - so they must be somewhere on my disk.
idk. Try disconnecting your Broadband and then check to see if those posters show up? If they donât u can assume they are still sitting over on the cloud and not ur server. Just a guess & good luck.

This low res cover art is very likely either
See
If the music library (or just this one album) was ever âtouchedâ by Windows Media Player, you will very likely find those hidden thumbnail images in there.
Particularly if you got the files from someone else.
After trying the PMP and the Web app, I decided to use the Windows store app. There the music player blows the album cover art to a huge size. The standard 300x300 pixel images look horrible. (I canât understand why the developers did not use the player from the PMP, it is nicer and less complicated).
I am now scanning the album covers to 900x900 pixels, and entering them into Plex directly, and also into the music files using MP3tag. But the old ones hang around. It would be nice to have an easy and quick way to remove them, but it is not a big issue.
thanks
Just make sure that there no leftover hidden pixtures of low resolution.
I cannot recommend to embed those huge pictures into the files themselves. Since you are mebedding it into every single track, it blows up the size of the files.
Just go with the âsidecarâ folder.jpg
For the sidecar image I recommend an even higher resolution. 1000 to 1400px is what I use. Just to have enough reserve for the next generation of monitors and tvâs with even higher screen resolutions.
After putting in the image, âRefresh Metadataâ so the Local Media Assets agent goes out and reads the new files (and forgets the old ones).
You can see a larger version of the cover art in the web player by playing the track and then clicking on the small cover art in the lower, left corner of the screen.
Thanks, Otto, I will do that. A fair bit of work involved, but needs to be done.
