Nonetheless, I commit to trying conversion if/when I next get a fail, and will certainly report my result. Meanwhile, I’m not inclined to reset my now-working settings to deliberately fail just to bug test the AppleTV player software… I feel I’ve done enough already in discovering the workaround…
By the way, it may be of benefit to others on the forum if the title to this thread were able to be adjusted to include the actual topic it evolved into… it turned out to be quite a bit more than “how-to-save-database-when-reinstalling-plex” even though that did get covered as well… it just wasn’t actually the problem here, which now appears to be contained.
