How to Sign Into Plex Media Server on Raspberry Pi

Hey everyone - new user here. I’m currently trying to get Plex setup so that I can stream from an external hard drive connected to my raspberry pi to my Xbox One. To give you as much information as possible related to my problem here is everything I have done so far.

I first installed Raspbian lite onto the Raspberry Pi. Then I mounted my external hard drive to it which is working without issue. I then followed the instructions in the link below to install Plex Media Server

The installation appears to be successful. The raspberry pi states that it is starting the Plex Media server without issue on boot.

When I loaded up the Plex client on the Xbox One it then prompted me to create an account which I did. Everything was looking great up to this point.

After fully logging into the Plex app on the Xbox One however it could not detect the server. I tried adding the ip address of the raspberry pi as a manual server but it just comes up with an exclamation point and can’t connect. Note that both the Xbox One and the Raspberry Pi are connected to the same switch via a wired cable.

As a test I went and installed Plex Media server on my windows machine and as part of the installation process it prompted me to login to my Plex account. I logged into it and the Xbox detects the server without issue. At no point during the installation of the Plex Media Server on the raspberry pi did I ever have to enter my Plex account credentials which leads me to believe that this may potentially be the problem.

So my question is - how do I log into my Plex account on the raspberry pi? Or is something else causing my problem? Note that this is the raspbian lite version so I can’t load up the desktop to browse to 127.0.0.1 - or at least not to my knowledge. Any assistance would be appreciated.
