I think Plex for Photos is an ideal way to share photos on the big screen. I dump photos into YYYY/YY-MM folders but this causes the sort options at the Library to basically do nothing. At the folder level, I can see my photos, and they are arranged in Date Taken order ASC by default, but I’d like to see the newest first. Is this possible?
I don’t believe there is a way to change the order or sort photos. I have a Google Photos library on my Google Drive that I have my Plex server pointed at. As I take new photos it adds them to Plex and sorts those to the top or under recently added, which is a good work around.
I think the goal of Plex is that you are backing your photos up to your Plex server so this is done by default, but for now it does not appear to be very robust around the ability to sort by any specific criteria.

Yeah, I think Photos was the last library type to be added, and it is somewhat behind the other library types in terms of features.
