How to stop plex (on android) from using local content?

I need to have the control to block plex from using local files. How can I do this? Is plexignore the only way to go?

Are you referring to local content such as local media assets (movie extras, posters) or local media outside Plex on your Android phone?

For local media assets: disable Local Media Assets in your server’s Agent settings
For local media: you should be able to configure the permissions of Plex on your system to restrict it from seeing what’s outside its own sandbox.

When on my android tablet, I see that

videos are being drawn from my tablet

itself…these are not synced videos and

not present on other devices.

I want to be able to turn off Plex’s ability

to draw material from my local device.

I seem to have no control over this.

…typically these are media files - mp4, etc.

I consider you might want to take a look into Android’s “app permissions”:

Yes that’s possible…but from what I read

many more people have my same issue.

I could probably solve the issue through

app permissions…but Plex should have

a setting that blocks local data.

Here is one such person…
