I’ve spent 30 minutes googling and trying to find a quick fix to this problem and there is nothing i have come up with that is current.
Most info relates to ancient threads which are long gone <2008!!!
How can i stop Plex from generating a preview image from the media file i am about to play…
My GF watches a lot of Big Brother and it usually generates a still image/file preview from the episode and more often that not it gives away massive spoilers.
are we talking about single screengrab that might be on the episode file or do you mean the thumbs that may show when you are fast forwarding?
the single image for the episode thumb you cannot turn off.
The Gerenate Preview" settings which you can see because you are admin of server means not to create the index files that may appear when fast forwarding. you can turn off creation and delete the ones already created. but it sounds like you are talking about the episode thumb
The single image for the episode thumb you cannot turn off.
Yes sorry i wasn’t clear - that above is indeed what i was talking about.
OK so it cannot be turned off… That is a shame.
Can i suggest that it becomes an option in a future release? I’m sure i am not alone in liking that feature to be available. The current way really can ruin /spoil episodes.
Thank you very much Plex people. Its an awesome bit of software and its revolutionized the way we can all watch and enjoy our media!
