How to update PlexConnect?

Hello guys,

I am trying to update my PlexConnect to latest version but Im having some problems doing that.

Steps that I did:

  • Moved PlexConnect folder from programs folder to desktop.

  • Created new PlexConnect folder with latest version in programs folder.

  • Created new certificates using the following commands:

C:\OpenSSL-Win64\bin\openssl.exe req -new -nodes -newkey rsa:2048 -out C: railers.pem -keyout C: railers.key -x509 -days 7300 -subj “/C=US/CN=www.icloud.com” -config C:\OpenSSL-Win64\bin\openssl.cfg

C:\OpenSSL-Win64\bin\openssl.exe x509 -in C: railers.pem -outform der -out C: railers.cer

type C: railers.key >> C: railers.pem

  • Moved trailers.pem and trailers.cer files to PlexConnect-master\assets\certificates folder

  • Edit Settings.cfg from hosttointercept = trailers.apple.com to hosttointercept = www.icloud.com

  • Run PlexConnect.py

I always had this running well, but after upgrade stopped working… when I open my iMovies appears that app is not available.

What I am missing? :slight_smile:

There is no need to create new certificates, you could have just used your old ones.
Since you did create new certificates, did you also load the new certificate on your Apple TV device?

Fixed by delete old profile and create a new one!

Help…

Im trying to watch a movie but videos doesnt play… appears a message saying that content is not available.
What could be? I can access PlexConnect in my ATV and browse through movies… only when I select play appears that message.

Hi, I’m running version 0.5-dev-020615, what I can see from the log file above there should be an update for me. Right? Divvy seems to be running 0.5-dev-101215 wich if I versions go by the regular standard in naming sounds like an update. So, how do I update in the most easy way?

I hope theres a way without doing a clean new install with the new files?

What happens if you use another Plex client, such as PHT (Plex Home Theater) ?
