I spent days retaging all my music using musicbrainz and i now have 1000000 of music genres instead of my initial 20 genres (but i now have correct years etc … nothing is really bad)
I was thinking about using collections to group all metal albums, jazz albums as playlists unfortunately does not allow to browse by album … witch is really sad as it could allow much more sort using smart playlist …
I see collection in busic browsing but i do not see how to add a collection tag on multuple albums selected (like for movies)
Anyone can help or suggest another way to group albums genres without retagging all genre with personals ones ?

my confusion was that on french version of plex, the filter is collection, but when adding the filter in the albums details, the field is labelled “Sagas”
For Genres I had the same issue. There is a setting you can choose for your music library and it uses your embedded tags for genre.
Be careful to only change the genre tag option.
I left everything else up to Plex Music scanner agents to grab artist and album and bios etc… but the only thing i like my own Genres. I made sure to tag genres in all my music files and then told Plex to use embedded genre tags and that fixed my problem.
Might be easier than creating collections and having to update the collections
