So I got part of an answer here previous post, but since I am still a bit confused maybe someone can help me.
In short, I have had a plex server for almost a decade now an been using it in my cabin where there is no internet connection. I update and put media on it about once or twice a year.
With the “new plex experience” I lost the ability to put in local network address on iOS devices. So the server does not show up on those devices any more. I can still access it through an AppleTV - wich surprisingly just finds the server by itself - and through an old Samsung SmartTV with PLEX on it by putting the IP in there directly.
Is there any way the new PLEX app can access a local server without internet connection?
Is there a chance the old app will be released as legacy?
Are there any plans how or better when the “new plex experience” will spill over to AppleTV app an other devices?
I am just trying to figure out wether to be patient and hope this feature will come back or move on to another media server/client architecture and how fast I need to do this.
