Has anybody from plex company analyzed why people takes Plex so emotionally. Reading the posts in forum like “Goodbye Plex” or similar, makes me wonder how this happened and when.Treating piece of software like person… or, “I’ve Paid life time subscription for nothing”, how come that people ate whining on paid software and not looking for support or help, but emotional response, and , no, it"s not related with Covid 19,this happens for a long time. I’m writing this post because everyday there are more than one hundred new messages on the forum, mostly “Plex don’t work” kind (the only thing in my miserable quarantine life is working is Plex media server), so average user like me can’t find wonderful experience ideas from other users for new approach to this nice technology. Finally my question, are there any hints to avoid support part of the forum?
Why do I have to read a long rant just to get to the actual question? Kidding.
Your observations are not unique to the Plex forum. It’s similar is all product support forums. At least Plex has employees addressing some issues, a lot of forums don’t.
There really isn’t an answer to your question. Use the forum categories and search function. Google works better than the search function in most forums.
Thanks for the answer. I’m using categories of course. I was hopping for secret forum chamber where all the secrets were revealed. Joke. And, yes. Google is better approach.
If you put site:forums.plex.tv in front of your search words in Google, Google will specifically search this forum rather than the entire Internet.
many common things that folks run into (that are not bugs) folks write up instructions on how to handle that can be found in the Tips&Tricks category. https://forums.plex.tv/c/general/tips-tricks-how-tos/15
Also in the Lounge area is just folks talking about their system usually. https://forums.plex.tv/c/general/lounge/69
