How to use Xmedia to remux mkv to mp4 for AppleTV?

Hi I have files that are in MKV file format and would like to remux them in their original format to MP4 format to play on AppleTV without need for transcoding by PMS. Does anyone know the proper settings to simply change the file from MKV to MP4? I don’t want to convert I simply want to extract the MP4 from the MKV file; something that should take a couple of minutes not hours?

In the Mode setting on the video & audio tabs, choose Copy instead of Convert.

Xmedia Recode may default to convert. If so, delete the choice in the Output field, then choose the option to copy.

Note that MP4 is a more restrictive container than MKV, so not all audio tracks, subtitle tracks, etc will copy over. You may have to convert some. Example: PGS subtitles.

If the content of your MKV files is compatible with Apple TV, Plex won’t transcode but direct stream (which means it’ll put the streams in a compatible container for you) – no separate re-muxing needed.
Unless of course the video’s video/audio/subtitle streams are not compatible/supported… in which case you’ll actually need to transcode anyway (e.g. using Handbrake)

Thanks for the help on this I was able to convert .mkv to .mp4.
