[HowTo] Plex database modification - Moving media the right/wrong way

Hi, May I ask you how many Tera Bytes your libraries are?

The Idea is really great but with roughly estimated 90 Tera Bytes of Movies the copying will take for ever and the extra Hard Disks will cost a fortune…

Wait a minute…
I was planning to switch from RAID 1 to RAID 10 for better performance. Maybe I won’t!!!

As I am running the server in RAID 1 I do actually have an exact copy of everything…

Has anybody experience in using their RAID 1 Mirrored Disks to start up a new Plex Server???

Repeat after me: RAID is no backup.

You access a RAID volume just like any other storage volume. So there is zero difference, as far as Plex is concerned.

But all of the above has nothing to do with this thread’s topic.

Nobody is talking about backup here, except you! Please re-read what I wrote and apologize

Or do you want to argue that RAID 1 is not making an exact copy of its mirrored disk?
