HTPC Client: Overlay is not showing when playing

Server Version#: 1.26.0.5715
Player Version#: 1.15.1.2976

When playing any video in the Plex HTPC Client, when seeking forward/back 10 seconds, the progress bar isn’t showing. Also normally when i pause or press the down button, the progress bar will show and then auto hide. It’s just never visible now. So to see the progress, I have to stop the video and look at it on the menu. Also note that when I stop the video, the progress briefly shows for a split second. This issue does not occur in the latest Plex Media Player client. Also note I have no custom input maps.

Note this only happens in fullscreen mode. It does not happen if I change the visibility to Maximized

I started rolling back HTPC client versions (I’m on windows btw) until I found which version does not exhibit this issue. 1.10.0 was the last release where the controls overlay will be visible in fullscreen during playback. Version 1.11 to 1.15 (current) exhibit this bug.

Until this is fixed I will stay with version 1.10.

FYI to disable updates for anyone happening upon this, you need to edit your %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex HTPC\plex.ini file and under [debug] section add disableUpdater=true.

I will say I LOVE this new client, I realize it’s still in dev and it’s a work in progress.

Btw the icing on the cake would be to bring back the FF/rewind at 2/4/8/16/32x speed. But I can live with the skip.
