Can you explain what's this for and what it's intended to do? Thanks.

Almost finished translating to hebrew but can't use it cause hebrew isn't available in ATV. Please make a setting to choose PlexConnect's language and the deafult will be the ATV's language ..
I don't really like that idea... Just copy your hebrew MO file into the /en/ folder (or whatever language you have chosen on your aTV).

sure...
as you might have noticed, PlexConnect tries to simplify your life. It picks up your aTV's settings and tries to display its output in your selected language.
Unfortunately I am only capable of "talking" basic, c, fortran, python... nothing that you want to read on your TV screen.
=> "getlocalisation" is a site that supports community driven translation. PlexConnect has a page there as well - to provide text snippets for a nice and clean look in your own language.

Yea but it's not such a fun to change folder's name on every github update .. :)
I really don't see any problems at this-the default will be ATV's language so most of the people will not notice it and the ones who needs it can use it :)
I neither is much fun to test and double check (presumably) mostly unused code with either commit. It really isn't. Sorry.
Just add the "folder rename" to a script doing the github pull as well? Shouldn't be to big of a deal.
Guys
I've finished Czech translation but I would like to test drive it locally before I push it public. What should I do? I've made a folder "cs" in assets but it is not automatically picked up by PlexConnect. User interface on ATV is using Czech language (Čeština).
BTW this topic probably deserves pinning?

Of course not, but it'll be easier to israeli users to use like this :)
I updated hebrew, please update in the code or however you updating this to github :)

You have the PO file locally?
Then you got to compile it into MO format - short explanation in /assets/locales/locales.txt. And in the python doc pages, look for localisation.
I figured a couple of phrases were added/changed, thus our translation database needs some updates. :-)
So... here starts another loop:
A new POT file was uploaded - please head over to http://www.getlocali...om/PlexConnect/ and give your best.
Thanks for your work!

I've noticed that the translation only affects "primary titles", the "secondary titles" remain in English. For example, I go to the list of my libraries, I select the "concerts" library (created as a movie library), and it shows the headers in my local language. But when I select one of the options (for example "All films", a "secondary title" (with a smaller font) appears saying "All Concerts". It's this "All" word that I would like to translate (the library name comes from the previous seleccion). There are "secondary titles" in several other places.
With today's situation these "secondary titles" contain a mix of english and national words...
The "All Films" stuff comes directly from PMS. This information is read out of the XML files, just like eg. the Movie titles. It doesn't get translated by PlexConnect, I guess you need to get PMS localized. :-D
I guess you need to get PMS localized.
How can this be done ? I've tried French and German languages, they seem to suffer the same problem. PlexWeb is OK in Portuguese.
As I said, PlexConnect just forwards the headline given from PMS.
PMS would need a switch for user's language, or better yet an option to adjust to the client's language setting.
Unfortunately - as far as I have seen - PMS itself does not yet support that.
Plex/Web on the other hand might have a localheadlien for translation, similar as PlexConnect does it with the NavBar sections...
Another call for assistance:
The current PlexConnect's text modules were just updated at GetLocalisation!
Please head over there and adapt your languages: http://www.getlocali...om/PlexConnect/
Thanks!
Anybody? Last call for the year-end-updates!
I plan to swap the files from getlocalisation.com to the github database early next week. Get your language complete, vote for the perfect fit, then rejoice over the localization within the next 10 days!
I've completed the Portuguese european translation some time ago. Thanks for the heads-up.
It's this time of the year again... updated language files on http://www.getlocali...om/PlexConnect/.
Feel free to do your magic and translate the new strings - mostly PlexHome related, I guess, plus a couple changes in the settings structure.
