Hi Guys,
Is there anyway to allow my home network to use unsecured connections but force secure connections from outside of my home network as my older Samsung TV’s for some reason or another cannot connect when it is forced on.
Thanks,
David

P.s can a mod be so kind and delete my other poor attempt to post this in the Plex Pass section?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Set required connections to yes, set a manual ip for the tv, add it to the networks without auth section in the server section.

Alright thanks I’ll try this, thanks

I have finally had enough time to sit down and take another look at this but I am still running into the same problem. my local network still has to use encryption.

I have set ‘Secure connections’ to ‘Required’ and then added my home network to ‘List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth’ to ‘127.0.0.1/255.255.255.255,192.168.xxx.xxx/255.255.255.0’ but this still will not allow my Samsung TV’s to connect with out encryption.

I think a ‘List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth’ means authentication i.e they don’t need to have a username and password to sign into the Plex server this is slightly different that allowing the connection to be encrypted/unencrypted.

Does anyone have any other ides how i can allow devices on my local network to connect to my Plex server without requiring the connection to be encrypted?
