HW tonemapping issue - Unraid + Docker?

@ChuckPa
Is it possible to simply install required drivers from kernel 5.15 to make hw HDR tonemapping work with the latest PMS version? I just want to avoid to downgrade from UNRAID 6.11.3 (kernel 5.19) to 6.10.3 (kernel 5.15).

I have exactly the same problem.
My Unraid version is 6.11.3 and HDR tone mapping doesn’t work anymore either.

Tested with Official Plex Docker and Binhex-Plex Docker.

I don’t know what is happening on Unraid.

Can any of you help me / tell me how to setup a VM so I can test it?

Can anyone get me some DEBUG log files which capture the failure?
Nice and clean please.

  1. Reproduce the failure
  2. Capture the logs ZIP file
  3. Attach here.

In what’s been presented so far, I’ve not seen failure.

Supplemental question. Is this Unraid or Docker ?

@premikkoci

You can’t just take kernel modules from one binary to another.
Kernels don’t work that way. Kernel Objects (KO) files and Shared Objects (SO) must be linked against a known kernel. The symbol table won’t align. You’ll end up with kernel panic and all kind of other corruption.

I use Unraid “as main System” on Bare Metal and “Inside Unraid” a Plex Docker.
Unraid Supports Docker “nativ”.

I think you can use Virtual Box on your PC and Install Unraid as a VM, but the "Problem is here that you need to create a Virtual Boot Stick to Boot Unraid (Unraid Boots in to the RAM ).

If you want write me a Privat Message and i can Share my screen and we can do some Testing together if this helps.

Plex Media Server Logs_2022-11-12_21-40-55.zip (1.5 MB)

See the logs

unRAID runs bare metal on your server, it’s just Linux.

It has Docker built in to it so you just point it at the official PMS docker, it downloads and runs it.

@e10kstarfire

All my hosts are used / production status. Two ESXi boxes are all ll I have at my disposal.

I just spent the last 2 hours attempting to generate a bootable thumb drive.

Even after it appearing to be satisfied, nothing happened on boot.
apparently make_bootable_linux didn’t do what it claimed / something was missing.

what I get is the classic DHCP boot spin (looking for a boot loader)

Would appreciate it someone can share a bootable image PM.

Wow, should be as simple as following Unraid | Download Unraid OS

The boot drive contents are keyed to the physical USB drive your using (for licence purposes) so don’t think can be shared.

Maybe this helps.
