Just letting the community know that June 15 will be my last day as a premium subscriber. It seems like the features that I care about are not improving (livetv, dvr).

Frankly I have Plex fatigue. I am tired of playing roulette with whether I will be able to watch something when I want to watch something (the last straw was trying to watch or record the NBA game last night, did not work). I am tired of reporting issues, tired of seeing issues not get resolved and definitely tired of features regressing. Not only that but I don’t have the time to go back and forth with support (don’t they have telemetry for this?)

Plex has a ton of potential but as I have said before it tries to go too many directions (VR, Tidal, Podcasts?).

Anyways, this is not meant to be a negative post. It was good while it lasted. I am switching over to HDHR DVR. I did a trial for 3 months and I never saw it fail (same hardware, network everything). I will keep my post-processing pipeline (MCEBuddy for move, remux, extract subtitles, commercial flag).

I am with you. I bought the lifetime subscription and having the exact same issues and can’t even get a reply. Terrible lack of support. I have been using the HD Homerun DVR for a couple of years and it works really well for what it is supposed to do. And they have good support when there is a problem. Plex is a crap shoot when it comes to recording Live Tv… It does play the content well enough. So you can record with the HD HR DVR and play the content through plex but that is pretty redundant.

I’m investigating options to replace Plex for the same reasons.

I don’t care about these features at all but agree they are trying to do way too much at once. Consider abandoning plex too but for other reasons. They should have stuck to what got them big in first place and do that best in class. Not even the tech giants with 1000x the resources try to go in so many directions simultaneously.
