I cannot fix a match

Specials have become possessed by Satan - even if your naming and structuring isn’t evil.

Plex has been working on it for about 6 months with no daylight in view.

You can’t help me, but you made me laugh…which is great. Thank you for your kindness!

Actually, I can help by aiming you here:

https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

You can work on that while we wait for Specials to be attended to…

You can work on this too - denying Plex’s ability to peer inside those MP4 files for embedded metadata:

Old Agents:

New Agent:

Edit the library/advanced: Disable ‘Prefer Local Metadata’

All of my Plex collection, movies and tv shows, should be well named, because all appear properly. I think this is Satan work…

Your TV Show names are ridiculous.
I suspect the structure is as well.

Oh…this last thing appears diffiucult to me, but Iwill try. what is LMA?

It is always clever to remember, Naming works till it don’t.

If you go by the book, in this case Plex support articles. Your chances of having matching issues very slim. Then again embedded metadata in mp4 files can through a fox in the hen house.

My good friend Juice is well versed in troublesome Naming and Structure.

Local Media Assets…

I don’t currently have any Met Operas, but I do have this:

Filebot took care of it and it matched instantly… just like almost everything else.

I recently migrated 800+ TV Shows with more than 16,000+ episodes to the new agent. I had to fix match 4 times.

I recently migrated 6800+ Movies to the new Movie Agent. Where’s Fix Match? I never had to find it.

You can play around with poor naming and structuring, or you can do it once and forget about it.

However… Specials are blown. That fix is still locked up in the math on the whiteboard at Plex HQ.

I have a folder called
Metropolitan Opera Live in HD (2006)
Inside, each show is labelled like this
S00E02 The Audition (2007)
Inside
S00E02 The Audition (2007).en.srt
S00E02 The Audition (2007).es.srt
S00E02 The Audition (2007).mkv
Everything works beautifullly, with the exception of that particular episode, S00E005
And I have a number of episodes of this show.
It works perfectly for all my other tv shows and films
Thanks a lot your help. You are very kind.

Kung-Fu Says:
“you can drown horse in inch of water,
you can not make it drink”

Farewell (wooden flute plays as Kwai Chang Caine walks barefoot into a cactus field)

I see…I will try. It’s a pity. It worked perfectly until this episode arrived in my life.
Thanks for your help and humor.

Don’t use subfolders per episode.
Instead, use subfolders per season. Particularly when you use external subtitles.

/Metropolitan Opera Live in HD (2006)
/Season 00 [for season 0 you can also use 'Specials' as folder name]
      S00E02 The Audition (2007).en.srt
      S00E02 The Audition (2007).es.srt
      S00E02 The Audition (2007).mkv
      S00E03 Another Ep.en.srt
      S00E03 Another Ep.es.srt
      S00E03 Another Ep.mkv

Thank you very much.

I followed you advice and changed everything. At the beginning, I had the operas as films, and, believe it or not, almost all of them could be recognized as such. I was advised here to catalogue them as episodes of the two shows: “Live from the Met (1997)” and “Metropolitan Opera Live in HD (2006)” I did it. I didn’t realize that I had passed them as movies, in one folder, and individual folders for were now shows and not films. I have just changed that. I have a folder for each show, inside one for each season, and the episodes all together. Again, S00E005 of “Metropolitan Opera Live in HD (2006)” is perfectly catalogued by Plex. I can see what show it is, name, duration and in “Info” I can see that the file is well recognized.

But when I play it, like a nightmare, I see S09E10. My conclusion is there is a problem in Plex’s files, because all of the rest of my collection is fine.
All of you, guys, have been very nice and kind to me. Thanks for your help.

Ahh, yes. It turns out there is an issue which makes the server deliver episodes from season 01 when the user actually wants to play items from season 00.

Which server software version are you using?

Version 4.57.4

This is the version of the web app.
The server version can be found under Settings - Server - General

Sorry for my mistake: Plex Media Server: 1.23.1.4602-280ab6053
