I cannot log in to Plex account on samsung smart tv for last 4 weeks or so

Hi can anyone explain how to fix this issue? My tv is a samsung UA46ES 7500M, a 2012 model.
The problem started about 5 weeks ago, whereby I had to reinstall smarthub on my tv due to a Netflix issue. Obviously I had to download Plex again after smarthub had been reset. After installing Plex, I open plex on my tv and the 4 boxes appear and it says to go to the plextv/link page on my PC, but no numbers appear in the boxes on the tv screen. Then I click the home button and it gives me two options, connect with my plex account or configure manually. If I click on connect with my plex account, it automatically scrolls to system and then the top option is “sign in to your plex account”, which is not clickable. And trying manually worked once when I inputted my servers IP address, but stopped working soon after, and now says “network detected but cannot connect due to a network security problem” or something along those lines.
I have tried reinstalling plex, and yes I am signing into my account and plex server on my PC prior to attempting this. Any ideas how to fix this issue? It is really pissing me off, plex don’t have a service helpline, and I am halfway through the Breaking Bad series and it has been on pause for 5 weeks!

It is due to the age of the TV and the app. It doesn’t support any secure network protocols, so it is now unable to communicate with plex.tv

Please see Samsung TV Cannot Connect to Plex - #8 by Orca for further details.

You could also try this:

Easy and been shown to work perfectly.

Thanks for the tip, but alas I do not need to try any of these things, as I can now link through Chromecast and it is a lot simpler than trying any of these suggestions. Thank f@%k for Chromecast!

I realized in hindsight that I could have also just put all the episodes onto a thumb drive and plugged it directly into my Samsung smart tv. There’s always more than one way to skin a cat. The fiddling around with IP address idea seems to be the most complex of them all.

Well it all depends on what you’re really after
putting shows on a thumb drive is not quite the same as restoring Plex functionality
which is what people here were trying to help you do
