My son’s plex crashes almost EVERY time we play a movie regardless of length, format, or anything. This never happens in the den where my roku premere is hard wired into the router. My son has a 50" vizio with a new model roku stick plugged into it. I have 50/10 internet with 2.4ghz wireless N.
Because of this problem, I have started using Emby for his streaming needs as it works better than plex does in his room. I am considering completely switching to something else if I can’t fix this issue.
I am just sick of having his cartoon movies stop because of transcoder crash. It happens almost every time. I don’t want to and shouldn’t have to delete everything and rebuild the library. Why is it that other personal media players work fine and plex always crashes over wireless? His room is not even that far away from the wireless router. it worked just fine a few months ago. I don’t know if it was an software update, me getting him a newer roku stick, or a setting I changed. PLEASE HELP!
Attach zipped logs, and please upload the short 5-minute clip on dropbox or google drive etc and share a link
Please provide the diagnostics using the current release of Plex Media Server - either public or Plex Pass beta.
It would be better to try the latest Plex Pass beta - but I would suggest waiting for the hot fix release that will be issued soon for the current beta 1.9.7.4441
@arkieboy72472 I have switched to Emby too and I telling everyone to do it too. Their interface is not as good as plex but the video plays without any transcoder crashes. Also plex transcoder always take 100% of my cpu on any mode.
