Yes. This forum is full with complaints and the non-existent “team” ignoring them. This software is full with bugs and as a 12 years experienced software developer I can’t even begin to comprehend it’s bugs and ways to solve them.
Basically ZERO options, because the software is fine taking care of everything automatically, right? Especially the Windows App or the Mobile App. Yeah, who cares about the mobile App, noone uses casting devices too, right?
I’m angry, because if I was ignoring my business like that and mocking with customers like those people do I would be out of business and fast. And yet they get to laugh at us paying them for making a product worse with every day.
The only solution EVERY one in this forum is giving me is “Use Emby”. And everyone does that. And the Plex team doesn’t care - you already paid, why do we care about your experience?
Basically non existent support - their awfully built and full of bugs software literally says “Technical support problems will go unanswered”. Is that a mockery or just you’re too big of a deal to deal with customers?
I say F U to businessman like that. F U to customer care like that. F U to developers like that.
@OurBG I’m beginning to think the same, I’ve put out a few posts with the LiveTV issues I’ve been getting and have posted my logs on a few occasions to, but I’ve had no reply from a Developer at all. Plex used to be a great app, right up till they started pulling things off like the Cloud and Plugins.
I’m stuck with Plex as I use it to stream to multiple devices, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Laptops, Android Smartphones and Tablets plus Roku Devices too, and my latest acquisition was 3 WinTV DuoHD tuners to stream live TV around the home for the family after cutting the cord on our Subscription TV, but since then we’ve had nothing but issues with LiveTV section on the PMS and no one out there that is willing to help or give an answer.
I’m an Open Source person, and run Linux on all devices I can, but Plex is just not helping the Open Source ethos, they seem to take but no willing to give back.
I’m hoping, but not holding my breath that a fully working version of the app actually arrives by Christmas… I didn’t say which Christmas though? 2020 anyone?
It sucks, doesn’t it… We are all beta testers here and the mainstream either doesn’t have an issue/doesn’t use features/asks the family-friend who set them up on Plex. We are the 1%.
The 1%ers don’t get to vote unless you’re rich, VERY rich. This is the way it’s gonna be until it hits the 99%ers out there… We are beta users in the aspect of seeing issues and reporting them.
Yeah last time i came here complained about sync which was a couple years ago… Wish they would just make all the normal functions work forget anything extended beyond that until it all works.
My issue is moved server to a Win 10 machine and all the Android/Roku apps work fine but on my laptop the App and the Player both can get to all the metadata but not get to the media data. Although the App can read Photos it can’t play Music. The Player can’t read either. Total generic error message.
As a programmer myself for over forty years it is stunning they can have major bugs like this…
There is a reckoning coming… some day, some other legit solution will go mainstream and this Plex team will be begging for their customers back, and there will be a deafening silence.
LOL! Just installed it for fun… Won’t load after install. Could be because my Windows7 is not up-to-date. It’s Windows 7 Ult x64 SP1 (core install only).
