I found a bug. Scanner will loop forever and movies won't appear!

Hi,
I found a bug.

Version 1.14.0.5470

Linux

The scanner was using 25% of CPU all the time and not all movies were found/shown. It took several days so it is not because there was many files. Also I tried to restart several time and it was always not progressing. No progress after finding excatly each time 4 series (and the same ones)…

I found the issue.

my lib is
/media/movies
/media/series

I had symbolic link movies in /media/series to redirect to /media/movies.
Same in /media/movies a link to /media/series
According to the log the scanner was looping forever and was following the sym links.

When I removed the sym link everything was working fine.

Please raise this issue to the developpers so that they can fix the “forever looping scan for links/shortcuts”.

ofc this is show a forever loop of symlinks…

That is a bit of a … fringe situation, which would be fairly complicated to detect. But I appreciate the report!
