I give up, need help

I googled, but can’t find help on www.
What parameters do I need to set in’DLNA client preferences’ to do to be able to access my plex server on my Yamaha WX-030 streaming speaker?
The Yamaha device has the feature to access servers.

Thanks, Wolfgang

Is the DLNA portion of Plex activated at all?
If not, turn it on under Settings - Server - DLNA

If you already have it activated, there is this other thing:
Determine the local IP address of your speakers.
Your router menu should have the ability to tell you that.

Then exempt this IP from authentication in Plex:
Settings - Server - Network - ‘Show Advanced’ - “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”
put the IP into there
(if there are already IP addresses in there, separate them with a comma - but without a space character before or after)

Afterwards stop Plex server and restart it.
See if that makes a difference.

Thanks for responding.
DLNA server is activated.
The speakers (I got in total) startup using DHCP procedure. Can I use the following entry too?
xx.xx.xx.1/24

Yes, you can do that, but then no client on your whole local network has to authenticate itself anymore. If you have kids which should not access everything on your server, this is probably not ideal.

But even if you use DHCP, you can assign your speakers a fixed address.
This is called ‘DHCP Reservation’. Many home routers do support it.
With this, you can ensure that your speakers always get the same IP address assigned by your router.

I run a linux home server. The server is modem/router.

  1. I asigned static IP to all 4 speakers. I checked the loudspeakers IPs manaully and they are set as defined in dhcpd.conf.
  2. I entered these 4 IPs seperated by comma, w/o space between to ‘List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth’.
  3. I restarted plexmediaserver
  4. DLNA section fields.
  • Enable the DLNA server is checkmarked
  • I did not change any other field in this tab

I still cannot see the plex server. The server feature in MusicCast works, I cann see my laptop on the app. All devices are o nthe same netowrk.
What am I doing wrong?

I don’t know what MusicCast is.
Is this another DLNA server that runs on the same computer as Plex Server?
If so, quit it and make sure that it is no longer running. It might be interfering with Plex’s DLNA server.

Do also check that the firewall on your server device allows all necessary ports for Plex:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201543147-What-network-ports-do-I-need-to-allow-through-my-firewall-

It was the firewall.Didn’t have TCP: 32469 open.

Thanks
