I have the set up working on my phone but my fire tv boxes are not getting the program guide and recording schedule. I have restarted my Plex on the computer (Mac OS) and restarted sign in and out on the fire tv’s and still no pg guide and rec schedule. What am I doing wrong?
I believe you need to access the PG and Rec function from the web app. From the FAQ:
The Program Guide is available in supported Plex apps when you have a DVR set up and program guide data downloaded. Supported Plex apps include:
Android TV
iOS
Plex Web App
Then you can watch the recorded videos on the FireTV.
Live TV is only available on iOS devices and Android TV.

No, the FireTv is the Android app.
Android TV is, for example, the nvidia Shield or a Sony Bravia TV.
I am running plex dvr on my mac mini and I can not watch live tv when I click on a program that is on right now I do not get a choice to play only record. But.when i go to the app on my phone it show up there.???
What phone, an iPhone? Yes, Live TV works on an iPhone.
Live TV only works on iOS devices and Android TV.
It does not work on Android phones or FireTV or AppleTV or Roku, etc.

Android TV is a special version of the Android operating system made by Google designed for TVs.
Fire TV is a device which runs FireOS which is a custom version of Android made by Amazon.
Only Android TV and iOS operating systems are currently supported for Live TV as stated on Website, blog and support articles
