I have to restart Plex multiple times a day

More and more recently of late I find myself having to restart Plex for absolutely no obvious reason whatsoever. My issue manifests itself thus:

I go to play a file and my players (Shield TV native app, Plex for Kodi on the Shield, Android on a Pixel 3, Chrome) all spin the loading wheel until the end of the time. As far as I can tell there is no pattern to it but hopefully someone here can help. If I restart the docker (plexinc/pms-docker) and go to play the exact same file it plays instantly every time.

Usually I see 2018-11-29T14:33:27.737155428Z Dolby, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and the double D symbol are trademarks of Dolby Laboratories. in the logs around the time of the issue.

So can someone please help me discover what I should be looking for in the logs? docker logs plex isn’t very verbose at all - perhaps I could increase verbosity? I tried this but the stdout in the docker logs didn’t really change. I should add I am running the plexpass version of the docker and this issue has persisted now over dozens of release for several weeks / months and even across different servers with completely brand new rebuilt libraries from scratch and new content.

Is it me? Or is Plex just getting less and less and less stable as time goes by. How is that possible?

Where are the support staff? This isn’t a free product.

Does nobody from Plex staff have a word to say on this?

Hellooooooo?

I’m pretty sad that Plex continues to add new features we didn’t ask for whilst the core product is increasingly unstable.

Ping. Some more characters.

Happened again today.

It’s something to do with the transcoder. But what?! Having to restart every day is not a solution!

This is still happening. Daily.

What are some things I can try please? Anyone? Any help would really be greatly appreciated.

This was the issue.
